Six-Word Stories
Compacted words, but with expanded meaning!
I really like Six-Word Stories, mainly because I am a recovering professor. They are fun to write too, if you have a sense of humor to share.
I have always had the gift of gab and can get quite verbose when speaking with people (depending on the setting, of course) on a subject I like or am curious to know more about. I inherited this gift from both parents: one would talk all day and never say a word, and the other could sell ice makers to those living in the Arctic Circle and convince them to buy the colored ice attachments and extended warranty, making them feel bad that they didn’t buy more. I can do both: depending on how you look at it, it can be seen as good, bad, or a superpower. This meant that being a professor was a natural for me.
As a recovering professor, whenever possible, I like to get to the point with fewer words than I used to use. Thus, six-word stories are both an aspiration and good training for me to become more precise with my words.
I will be posting 6-word stories here in batches, so keep a lookout for them. The topics will vary depending on what interests me at the time. If you have a topic you would like to see some six-word stories on, please let me know.
